In the mid-20th century, Swami Purshottamanand came to this site and started to maintain it. At present, the Swami Purshottamanand Trust manages this cave and inside the cave, there is a Shivalinga which is considered very sacred. To reach Vashishta Cave (20km from Laxman Jhula) you have to go on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway which passes through Shivpuri beach. 

Shivpuri Beach is among one of the favorite beaches in Rishikesh, with the silver soft sand and jade blue tranquil waters, this stunning beach will leave you feeling soothed and tranquilized. Known for its pristine waters, golden sands, and a plethora of thrilling water sports, Shivpuri Beach offers a delightful contrast to the meditative ambiance of the cave. The beach stretches all the way through to Vashishta Cave, so the journey itself is very scenic and pleasing to the eye.

• Hire a taxi/scooter and drop at the Vashistha Cave entrance, and then you can walk down a few steps to reach the cave itself. You can go into the cave and meditate or spend some time there to soak up the powerful energy it emanates. 
• After exploring the cave and the ashram, you can go to Shivpuri Beach and are free to do whatever you like. You can take a dip in the refreshing River Ganga, sunbathe and top up your tan, explore around the beach, or watch the river rafters pass by the water rapids.
