Kunjapuri Devi Temple is a scared temple of immense importance in Hindu religion. Located at an height of 1676 meters on the hills of the Tehri Garhwal District, Kunjapuri is one of the 52 shaktipeeth temples in Uttarakhand. It is believed that the chest of burned Sati (Lord Shiva’s first wife) had fallen there, hence the name Kunjapuri was given to this temple as kunja means chest in sanskrit. The temple not only has its religious and spiritual significance, but offers panoramic views of the snowcapped mountains and peaks surrounded by it.
- Start the day nice and early at 4am to enjoy a refreshing morning drive of 28kms through lush green forests and mountain views to the Temple.
- Hike up a trail of 308 stairs to the temple top for a 360-degree view of mountains and an
- amazing sunrise.
- Go exploring around the temple or just take your time to soak up the beauty of the place.
- Last but not least we make our way back trekking through the Tehri Garhwal District, passing through small villages, stunning views and taking a refreshing dip at a waterfall.
